Teac Cassette Deck Repairs
Teac A3300SX
This would play slow or not at all. I checked the micro switches on the shut off arm, they needed a squirt of cleaner but that wasn't the main cause. The capstan motor capacitor was over-heating 2µF plus a 0.8µF in the same can, date on the case was 1978. While I had it in bits decided to do as they call a 'service' on the motor, getting oil into the small tubes that go to the two bearings, supposed to be done every 12 months.
Teac A2300SD
This had noise through the left channel. It was narrowed down to the Dolby board even with Dolby switched out. The input signal goes through the Dolby section (I didn't have the service manual). Turned out to be a 2SA763 there are lots of them!
Teac 3340S
This was not working because the pinch wheel pivot had seized up, removed it with a gear puller after a struggle, re-profiled the pinch wheel and gave it a service, made excellent recordings after - nice deck.
Teac 3340S
Another 3340S for repair. It needed the safety micro switches fitting that are operated by the RH tension arm as they were missing! The heads also required realigning.
