This one needed several repairs. The arm weight was broken where it fits into the arm tube and needed Araldite molding on the stub. The small screw which locks the finger lift had stripped the threads and needed to be removed. The motor winding capacitors needed replacing because the platter sometimes started up in reverse!

Once all this was sorted, I wondered how the speed was supposed to be checked as the turntable has strobe markings around the rim but no 'light'. I decided to knock up a simple one using an LED display from a discarded torch shown in the diagrams and pictures. It worked better than my pictures show.
